In Castelbianco there is no shortage of opportunities to spend your days among woods, olive groves and streams, immersed in the tranquility of the greenery for a vacation in close contact with nature under the banner of relaxation or sports activities, such as trekking, mountain-biking, and climbing.
Without forgetting that within a half-hour drive are the most beautiful beaches of the Riviera Ligure di Ponente.

Trekking
In Castelbianco and throughout the Pennavaire Valley, you will find many trails of varying difficulty, which will allow you to get to know the area; from the lower and middle valley to the highest peaks that frame it, some examples are: the climb to Mount Castellermo (mt. 1092), or the one to Mount Alpe (mt. 1056), or even to the Caranche Pass (mt. 1411), as well as the climb to Mount Galero, which at 1708 mt. "the highest peak in the Valley."
Mountain biking
The valley offers several possibilities for road and mountain bikers. The same provincial road leading from Martinetto to the Caprauna Pass and then down to the upper Tanaro Valley in Piedmont can be a pleasant route with wonderful views.
Many unpaved secondary roads offer interesting possibilities for mountain bikers, and much of the hiking trails in addition to walking are also passable by bikers.

Climbing
There are now about 2,000 routes ranging from 4 to 9a+, vertical slat walls, drop walls, adhesion slabs, large barrel overhangs, caves, roofs, even a bulder zone, this is what Pennavaire Valley is today. More than 50 sectors. The new guidebooks : "Roc Pennavaire" by Ass.RocPennavaire a.s.d. and "Pennavalley climbing" by Matteo Gambaro, will be able to provide all the information you need to go and discover the crags of Castelbianco.

Colletta di Castelbianco
It is one of the 4 hamlets that make up the village, which became famous as the first "telematic" village in Europe. Completely abandoned for more than 30 years in fact, Colletta was the protagonist of a vast global recovery project conceived in 1991 by Arch. Giancarlo De Carlo and developed in the following years.
The renovation took place while respecting the original materials and construction techniques, at the same time the village was entirely wired thus becoming the first "telematic village" at the European level. Colletta di Castelbianco restored to its original beauty represents an extraordinary example of medieval architecture.

Cervo
Along Via Aurelia, the scenic road that runs along the entire Ligurian coast, halfway between the renowned tourist resorts of Andora and Diano Marina where you will find beautiful beaches, is located Cervo ancient village overlooking the sea, it is a must to stop, get out of the car and walk through the "carugi," the old and narrow streets that creep between the stone houses, to suddenly come out in the small church square from which you can enjoy an enchanting view of the gulf.
In just 45 minutes by car you can travel to visit San Remo, Bordighera and Ventimiglia.

We recommend as a day trip that you also visit the villages that are encountered going up the valley that from Ventimiglia enters the countryside, where you will find Dolceacqua, Pigna, Apricale and Baiardo.

Taking a little more than an hour you can drive to Monte Carlo and immerse yourself in its atmosphere, or go even further to Nice, Cannes, St.Tropez and the other beautiful resorts of the French Riviera.
Also, don't forget that behind us, about an hour and a half drive away, we have Piedmont, particularly the "Langhe" for a pleasant eno-gastronomic excursion. In fact, the Langhe is an area of production of excellent wines including Barolo and Barbaresco.
